Quarante livres d’argile, mes cheveux et mon corps 

/ Forty pounds of clay, my hair and my body

 

Le poids standardisé d’une boîte d’argile est de quarante livres. À partir de cette contrainte, j’ai entamé plusieurs heures d’expérimentation avec la matière. Pro forma fait montre d’un moment charnière lors de mon processus : façonnée à même mes cheveux, je soulève la masse d’argile.

 

Il s’agit d’une recherche sur la forme de l’agir.

 

Ce projet m’a mené à réaliser Crue.

 

The standard weight of a box of clay is forty pounds. Using this information as a sort of parameter, I began several hours of experimenting. Pro forma reveals a pivotal moment of my process wherein I lift the mass of clay previously shaped into my hair.

 

This project acts as research on the different shapes “doing” can take on. My search for these forms ended up being more of a means to act them out. Seeking shapes both within the matter and myself is a sculptural act in itself.

 

This experiment led me to carry out Crue.
